The Firm
A private house for colored stones.
Athenodin exists to make one of the world's oldest asset classes legible, liquid, and safe for modern private wealth.
Mission
Make investment-grade gemstones accessible, transparent, and truly liquid.
Athenodin was founded by Cronje Fourie, a coloured-gemstone specialist active in the trade since 2007. Based in Cyprus, EU, he shaped the house around a single principle: rare natural material must be independently certified, permanently identified, and handled with discretion.
In 2025, Johnny de Swardt joined from South Africa, bringing regional execution and institutional relationships to the firm. Together they are building Athenodin as a global private house: sourcing at origin, certifying independently, vaulting in tax-neutral jurisdictions, and clearing resale through the world's most trusted auction houses.
