Verification

Verify the record.

Every Gem Passport can be reduced to a cryptographic digest of its documented facts — identity, weight, colour, clarity, cut, origin assessment, treatment status, certification references and provenance sequence. Enter a Gem ID and we recompute that digest in your browser, then compare it with the digest recorded in our verification ledger.

How verification works

  1. The documented facts of the gemstone are serialised in a fixed, key-sorted order so the same record always produces the same text.
  2. That text is hashed with SHA-256 in your own browser.
  3. The resulting digest is compared with the digest we recorded when the passport was issued. Where a record has been anchored to an external ledger, the reference is shown alongside it.

Verification confirms that recorded documentation has not been altered. It is not a valuation, an authentication of the physical stone, or a guarantee of future value. Independent laboratory certification remains the authority on gemmological identity.
